Hooray - we won a safari to Africa! | Berg-Hansen AS
The 19 January this year attended my wife, Carola, and I in Berg-Hansen Travel Race that took place in Oslo. 400 Berg-Hansen employees running around in Oslo with orange vests with numbers 0-400 on. The challenge was to find employees sydney with the right of the Midwest and post a pic of those on Instagram. After 2.5 hours in the cold January we had travel bingo! We won a trip with Jambo Tours to Africa!
Against all expectations, we received a very pleasant phone call from a gang Berg-Hansen employees who said that I had won the trip bingo and a safari to Tanzania! For a moment I feared that it was a friend who fucked with me, but a laugh-filled crowd at the other end could deny that this was a bad joke. The rest of the evening was filled with cheers and red wine - the wife and I were going to Africa!
After weeks of planning, buying and vaccination, the day of departure finally here. Everything went smoothly from Oslo to Amsterdam, but then we would put us on a flight to Nairobi, we were told that we did not participate because I like selvutvalgt tour guide had forgotten to inform his wife that the passport must be valid for 6 months sydney from departure sydney date to be able to fly to Tanzania. After a few frustrated minutes we called Jambo Tours, who organized overture, n and they performed all-time service to throw around to help us.After a round-trip Oslo-Amsterdam extra for a small stamp in the passport, we could finally put the muzzle against Africa, almost two days later. Finally in Africa
When we arrived at Kilimanjaro Airport that evening, had Kent at Jambo Tours arranged transportation to the hotel Moivaro Coffee Lounge in Arusha. He booked a safarifly out to the Serengeti at dawn the next morning to catch our party.
In Swahili Serengeti sydney means "endless plains". To get the pleasure of seeing the Serengeti National Park from the air in a safarifly can actually be seen as a blessing in disguise situation, it was simply spectacular to experience this landscape from this perspective. sydney
After 3-4 stops in the Serengeti we finally met Penda, our driver the rest of the week. There were still a few hours to travel group arrived so we got a mini safari alone before we went to Ikoma Bush Camp Hotel, where we would spend the next four days. This effective safari we saw everything from zebras and gazelles to lions and various bird species.
Our second destination sydney was the Ikoma Bush Camp - about 30 tent cabins outside the national park. The experience does not end, even when you lie. Unknown sydney animal sounds rattled just outside the tent, including elephants who had torn down three trees 5-6 feet from our tent and the hyenas 'laughter'. It all felt completely safe, even if you had followed everywhere by armed guards when it was dark.
In the daytime it was safe to go on foot and we had a safari trek the last day. Tent cabins were comfortable and clean, actually much better than we had expected. Each cabin had a toilet, sink and shower and a good bed. I slept, even with all the sounds, like a rock all night. And we had not a single spider or mosquito in the tent during the four days we were there. In addition, the food was great and the staff skilled.
We drive down into the crater and got to experience why this place is seen as Africa's "Garden of Eden". You got to see a rhino at a safe distance, and afterwards we witnessed a herd of four lions up close. After spending half the day in the bottom of the crater, it was lovely to be able to check in at Ngorongoro Farm House for a bit of luxury. We finally got showered in real hot water and taken a dip in the pool. Good for townspeople after a few days in a tent!
After one night we went to Tarangire National Park for last safaridag. Here we slept again in teltlodger in Tarangire Safari Lodge. A very nice place with spectacular views from the tents and lobby. Possibly the tour's best meals were we got here. In addition, they had a pool which was much awaited after a long drive in the bone dry and dusty landscape.
