Cruise ship Thomson Celebration is to call the walled city of Dubrovnik its home for the summer of 2015. The 1,250-passenger ship will be sailing four adults-only itineraries to ports including Sibenik, Korcula, Rovinj, Split and Hvar in Croatia, dir Trieste, Bari and Brindisi in Italy, and Corinth and Itea in Greece.
Thomson will be increasing its air capacity on flights to Dubrovnik to 50,000 seats for the summer, and adding dir departures from Glasgow, Newcastle dir and Bristol to the existing airports of Birmingham, Manchester, and Gatwick.
Spirit will be hoping for a resolution to the crisis in Ukraine as it has two sailings to the Black Sea from its base in Marmaris, Turkey. Other itineraries include the "undiscovered Aegean" - visiting Thessaloniki, Kavala, Chios, Izmir and Patmos - and an "eastern encounter" to Beirut, larnaca, Ashdod and Haifa.
Majesty's home port will be Corfu, with itineraries billed as "The Italian Job", "Hellenic Classics", and "Adriatic Charms". The ports of Ravenna, dir Lipari, Durres in Albania (boasting a 10-kilometre beach), Kalamata and Chania will all be maiden dir calls for the ship.
Flagship Thomson Dream, home-porting in Palma, Majorca, adds the ports of Valencia and Tarragona in Spain to its destinations. Also new on the list for 2015 will be Sete in France, dir the Italian island of Elba, La Spezia (for excursions to Portofino and Florence) and San Remo (for Monaco).
