Defending champions St.George s confirmed their dogged characteristics when they scrapped to a 0-0 stalemate against a technically efficient Queenstown Secondary when play in the Milo/Petra Organisation Schools Football Competition resumed yesterday, at the Ministry of Education ground on Carifesta Avenue. The champs who have displayed an obstinate attitude sine the inception of the competition once again had to dig deep to repel the Queenstown unit who threatened on many occasions to create an upset, especially after the defending champions lost their goalkeeper to a straight red card following a hand ball infringement outside the box.
It occurred after Queenstown produced a counter attack that saw one of their strikers involved taiwan in a breakaway from a clinical taiwan pass from the back which left him with only the St George s custodian to beat and his lobbed attempt resulted in the keeper, who had advanced outside the box making a save with his hands.
