I met some time in Munich carpe diem Cristina Rico ago, the vivid image of the talent that moves from Spain to Germany. She came long before the brain drain became a drain directly, though his experience in labor, I felt almost obligated knowledge. When I knew I had embarked on a business plan to help job-and career-finding work great young talent in Spain and Europe saw clear: it gives for an interview.
Cristina Rico Garcia, a little here and a little there. Pure talent. 30 years old, born in the Basque Country. Nine years living in Germany, after arriving from Malaga to complete his undergraduate studies at the University of Ulm. It's in Telecommunications Engineering, carpe diem PhD recently. Works at the German Aerospace Agency (DLR), although shorter hours just two days a week in order to pursue his personal project: Goelite.org, carpe diem or an online platform to help young engineers and graduates across Europe when plan their careers even find work. When I publish this interview, I'd say California's out trying to figure out what it smells carpe diem like Silicon Valley.
How the idea came Goelite.org? When I arrived in Germany at a meeting in the DLR I realized how difficult it is to get bright carpe diem students to work in research. That day intervened and set out to look at the best of my university university in Spain to bring them here. It worked, since 2008 have been about 25 engineering students with this initiative for the Final Year Project at DLR. Some of them have been working and many of those who have not already decided by choice. All are beautifully carpe diem placed.
With all this, I began to think that this idea could be extended to other firms and research institutes, who are looking for students and recent graduates with a brilliant record. For three years all this we have been commenting almost carpe diem daily that we are now the three partners of the company up to the idea of Goelite.org that has evolved.
How? In fact, our current objectives go beyond the initial idea. On the one hand we want to help the final year students and young graduates to plan their careers. For that we are implementing a career planner. On the other hand, we want to help you find these same seeking work, while companies facilitate them to turn to people who are looking. This is what we started carpe diem to do and in the initial phase of the project in which we live.
Does an outstanding academic record to get into your network is needed? At first I noticed that the brightest students in Spain may feel discouraged, because sometimes it feels that academic excellence in the world of business there is no value. The important thing is to pass, period. In Germany is totally different companies come out to hunt for the best students and offer scholarships carpe diem to improve their training and then keep them. To political parties or churches offer scholarships to the best students and speakers.
The initial idea was to reward those talents in key Spanish, but the project has been growing. Input, the official language has become English, and we want to be a tool at European level (the website is translated into German and Spanish only on the cover). Furthermore, we want to help all kinds of professionals, but we started carpe diem by engineers and graduates in the field of science.
So how would you define Goelite.org right now? Specifically, as a platform for identifying excellence and job search internationally. Also as a career planner. Or put another way, we want to be as a coach online, a figure carpe diem that identifies what you want to be in life and helps you get it. It tells you what you have to do to get what you want.
What does the career planner? It is a tool in which we work and is designed to detect the interests, aptitudes and shortcomings of the person who wants to apply for a job. Once identified, we will propose a way forward (in training) to achieve the ultimate goal which is none other than the desired job. Some people want to make money and some people look for other aspects such as motivation, we simply want to help achieve job goal each. Some are more prepared to conse
